We were able to go to convention in Ohio for Sat. and Sun. We sure enjoyed the short time we were there. We were worried we wouldn't be able to go because Jake had been sick. Luckily we did get to go for Sat. and Sun. However, when we got back Jackson came down with the virus and it kept him out of school for a day and a half. Thankfully Jilian and Jude and I didn't get it (Jon did, of course). Jake started preschool at United Methodist Preschool yesterday. It seems like a really good school and I think he will like it a lot. He seems to get bored pretty quickly w/o any brothers or sister to entertain him. I wish he was still a baby but I guess they have to grow up whether you want them to or not.
We are looking forward to convention this week. Sounds like it is going to be HOT!

First day of school
Well, the kids are off to school. I can't believe summer vacation is already over! Thankfully all the kids are excited about going back. Jude just walked into his classroom and forgot about me. I met all their teachers and they seemed really nice. Jake really wanted to go to school. He had his backpack on and was ready to go. I have a feeling this will be a VERY long day. He starts his preschool on the 26th. Until then...I will have to keep him busy. I have to make cookies today because everyone knows you have to have milk and cookies when you get home from a long day of school.
A night with Grandma Kate and Grandpa Roger
Jackson, Jilian and Jude stayed all night with Grandma and Grandpa. They went to Science Central which was the best thing ever! They even got to play on the playground at Burger King, their mom NEVER lets them do that! We've heard all about the walks to see cows, calves, kittens....They had a lot of fun. When Jon, Jake and I got there we made a trip to the zoo and Casa's. The zoo was lots of fun, as usual. The kids are planning their next trip there to make apple cider. Better get those apples picked!!

Summer flowers and garden
I thought I'd show a few pictures of our flowers and garden. The look so pretty right now. It has been a lot of work getting everything planted and keeping the weeds out but it's been fun too. I am already looking forward to planting new stuff next spring. We've had some cherry tomatoes, zucchini, squash, romaine lettcuce, cucumbers and green beans from the garden. I am looking forward to sweet corn but Jilian is about to lose her front tooth. How will she eat corn on the cob?? What a shame!!
