As September comes to an end...
Well, fall is here and summer is over. Isn't it funny how we look forward to summer and then in a flash it is over. However, I always love fall. We had our own camping trip in our front yard. The kids had a lot of fun sleeping in the tent. Jake and I slept in our own comfy bed in the house. Jon seemed really tired the next day, I'm not sure how much sleep he got in the tent. We played putt putt on Sat. It is a really neat place next to Meijer. The kids love miniture golfing but this day they were all just ready to go eat instead of play. I guess we should have eaten lunch before golfing. I also included some pictures of the kids the day of Uncle Bob's funeral. They looked so cute in their suits.

Mammoth Cave
We had planned a camping trip for this weekend but decided it wouldn't be much fun to go in the rain. So, Jon decided we should go to Kentucky and see Mammoth Cave. I thought he was crazy since it was going to be 95 degrees there. However, I packed everyone up and we headed south. We signed up for the 11:45 Frozen Niagra tour. We got there a little early and did some "exploring" on our own. The kids love to climb the rocks and discover things on the trails. We rode a bus to the cave, reminding me why I always hated the bus in school. I was really car sick by the time we got there. Even though we were all sweating and panting we put on our jackets and headed down in the cave. We had a really good tour guide and learned a lot from her. We saw the place a pack rat had sat up camp, cave crickets, and signs of bats and cave beetles. It is so amazing to see the neat things in the cave. After the tour we headed to Louisville for the night. We stayed in a nice hotel right downtown. The kids were excited to swim but there were about 30 other kids in the pool. We let them swim but they didn't have much room to move. We thought we'd better get home as early as possible Sunday so we didn't have to drive in the storm and rain. We had a good weekend!

Happy 6th Birthday!
Happy Birthday, Jude! He has had two parties and will have one more at school today. He should be happy about that. We bought him a go cart which was a big hit. He actually is a pretty good driver, no fear of speed though. Thankfully we can set it so he can't go too fast. The other kids liked it too, even I had fun driving it around. I think it will be a great thing to drive to the mailbox. We had a party at ChuckECheese's last night. Grandma Kate and Grandpa Roger made the long trip to Ft. Wayne and Ric, Carole, Lauren, Rachel, Joseph and Amanda were there. I think all the "kids" had a good time. We all enjoyed the dinosaur cake!

Lost tooth and cupcakes...
We had a wonderful convention. We always enjoy our "winding down time" on Mondays. We were at Eric and Sara's for lunch with some of the friends and workers who were still there. We decided to have a birthday cake for Jude since his birthday is soon. I got really neat Spiderman cupcakes but they fell out of the car when I opened the door. Needless to say, they weren't so cute after that. They still tasted good though. AS you can see by the pictures, Jilian has FINALLY lost that front tooth. It's been loose for a very long time. Thankfully she lost it the day AFTER school pictures. She grossed out the whole family by bleeding everywhere. Jake even was gagging. As you can see, she has a big hole in her mouth now. The new tooth is no where is site, yet.
