Fall fun...
So far we are having a great fall. I have all my pumpkins and scarecrows out. We were hoping it would get cold enough for a fire in the fireplace but that will come soon enough! Mom and Dad came over and went to the Feast of the Hunter's Moon. Jon was working so he couldn't go with us. It's always neat to see people dressed up in clothes from the past. This feast celebrates the time the French explorers came down the Wabash river and met up with the Indians here. There is a log cabin that was a French trading post, foods they would have eaten then and lots of things to buy and watch. Thankfully there were no loin cloths this year, yuck! We spent this past weekend in Ft. Wayne. Kate and Roger's apple trees were full of beautiful apples to pick. We ended up with a little more than four gallons of cider. It is soo good. The kids had a lot of fun running around smacking bees! There were still a lot of apples to pick, maybe we'll have to go back!

I love cider- and miss it, come to think of it. Must be a North American thing.
All the time I was in Lafayette, I never made it to the Feast of the Hunter's Moon at all...and I always wanted to. Happy Fall!
Brings back memories of last year! I remember the picture of Jake wagging his "bunny tail"! I would love to taste the cider. I don't like the pasteurized stuff. I think Jilian has her costume pretty much complete, huh? Have a nice trip, see ya next fall.
Yes, I would love to taste it, too. We buy cider from the farm stand because the deer eat all the green apples and the ground hogs and chickens clean up the ones that fall from our one big tree.
Cute pictures of the kids.
